Plane case file, papers sent to ATC-1

KARACHI: The case file, papers and recovered articles pertaining to the October 12 plane conspiracy case were transferred on Thursday from the court of the Administrative Judge of the Anti Terrorism court, Mr Justice Shabbir Ahmed, of Sindh High Court, to the court of Rehmat Hussain Jafferi, Judge ATC-1, also notified as judge of Ehtesab Court.

The court officials accepted the case file and other documents but recovered articles were returned for lack of space.

Mr Justice Shabbir Ahmed only on Wednesday assigned the case for trial to ATC-1 judge. Deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif is the main accused in the October 12 plane conspiracy case. Other accused are Punjab former chief minister Shahbaz Sharif, former adviser to the prime minister on Sindh affairs, Syed Ghous Ali Shah, former chairman of Ehtesab Bureau Saifur Rehman, PIA former chairman Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, former principal secretary to the prime minister Saeed Mehdi, and former IGP Sindh Rana Maqbool Ahmed.

The case is fixed for hearing on Jan 17.
