European raw cotton mkt cautious about U.S. gains

LONDON: Most merchants across the European raw cotton market were very cautious over fresh supplies to major European sectors after a sharp upturn in New York cotton futures on Friday, industry sources said.

The firmer price undertone so far failed to stimulate significant strengthening in mill enquiry, they added.

However, moderate demand was forthcoming from Germany, France and Portugal for traditionally favoured growths from central Asia and West Africa.-Reuters
