Cop kills colleague on duty at JJ's residence

KARACHI: A constable, identified as Afsar Qureshi, was killed in an altercation over guard duty at the private residence of Adviser to the Chief Executive on National Affairs and Media Development, Javed Jabbar, here on Tuesday, police said.

The incident took place outside the private residence of Javed Jabbar.

According to police, one of the cops had arrived late on duty and the objection by the other led to an altercation between the two.

Constable Aslam Jan allegedly fired two shots with his official rifle at Afsar Qureshi injuring him in the hip and the rib. He was rushed to Jinnah Hospital but died there due to profuse bleeding, police said.

Ferozabad police have registered a case under section 302 Cr. P.C. against constable Aslam Jan who fled the scene throwing his official rifle behind. APP
