China, important and time-tested friend of Pakistan: CE

ISLAMABAD: Chief Executive General Pervez Musharraf on Sunday said, China is an important country and time-tested friend of Pakistan.

Replying to a question about the importance of his forthcoming visit to China, the Chief Executive said, "China holds a special significance for Pakistan and is an old friend and well-wisher".

He was briefly talking to newsmen here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr after exchanging Eid greetings with the diplomats, federal ministers and senior government officials along with President Mohammad Rafiq Tarar.

Gen Musharraf said, Pakistan has strategic relations with China and friendship between the two countries have stood the test of time.

BEIJING: Chief Executive of Pakistan, General Pervez Musharraf is to travel to China on Monday for a two-day official visit, the official media reported on Monday.

"General Musharraf will pay a working visit to China from January 17 to 18, at the invitation of the Chinese side", the Xinhua news agency said, quoting Foreign Minister spokesman Zhu Bangzao. APP/AFP
