Dr Ghulam Ahmed takes over as Aari DG Research

FAISALABAD: Dr. Ghulam Ahmed Ch. took over the charge of Director General Research, Ayub Agriculture Research Institute (Aari), after the retirement of Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed Haleemi.

Dr. Ghulam Ahmed is a prominent agricultural scientist and prior to this assignment he was Director, Agricultural Research Institute, Chakwal.

He has the distinction of standing first in M.S. examination at American University, Beirut. He obtained the maximum marks ever secured by a student in the last 16 years. With his efforts many agricultural research institutes have been established namely Tobacco Research Station, Sahiwal, Barani Agricultural Research Institute, Chakwal and Research Station, Fateh Jhang (Attock).

Under his supervision many high yielding varieties of wheat, moong, peanut, edible oil and fruits have been developed. He has contributed immensely in boosting research activities in barani areas of Punjab.
