China's Minsheng Bank aims to list in 2000-paper

SHANGHAI: China's Minsheng Bank, a private commercial bank, plans to list early next year, the official Shanghai Daily reported on Friday.

"Minsheng Bank has already applied for a public listing," bank chairman Jing Shuping was quoted as saying.

"If everything goes smoothly, the bank is expected to go public early next year," he said.

Minsheng officials have said previously the bank planned to seek a domestic stock listing in the first half of 2000.

Mainland China's stock exchanges have just two listed banks, the Shanghai Pudong Development Bank and the Shenzhen Development Bank.-Reuters
