CE announces compensation for bus victims

ISLAMABAD: The Chief Executive General Pervez Musharraf has announced a compensation of Rs 100,000 for bus victims.

He announced this during a visit to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) on Friday, where he inquired about the health of those injured in the tragic motorway bus accident on Thursday.

The chief executive also went round various surgical wards of the hospital where 17 of the injured mainly burn victims, are being given treatment.

Musharraf assured those injured that all possible help and assistance would be extended to them.

He directed the hospital staff to ensure best medical treatment and keep him informed about the recovery and progress of the patients.

He said that concerned authorities are thoroughly investigat the reasons for this tragic accident in which 49 persons died and 26 injured.

Governor Punjab Lt. Gen. Mohammad Safdar (Retd), Minister for Health Abdul Malik Kasi were present during the visit. APP
