ISLAMABAD: The Acting Chairman of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Mir Waiz Umer Farooq has once again made it clear that the Kashmir liberation movement cannot be suppressed by any amount of brutalities, reports Kashmir Media Service correspondent.
Addressing Juma congregation at the Central Jamia Mosque, Srinagar, Umer emphasised that Kahsmiris are devotedly committed to their just cause and are destined to achieve their objective.
Meanwhile, an APHC spokesman gave details in Srinagar on Friday of the atrocities of the Indian occupation troops at various places in the Valley during Ramazan. He gave instances of the military savagery, as reported by delegations from various affected areas at the APHC headquarters in Srinagar. According to these details, the miltiary repression was markedly pronounced in Ganderbal and Sonawari areas. The spokesman appealed to Amnesty International, the Asia Watch and other world human rights organisations to take effective steps to get India stop massive human rights violations in occupied Kashmir.
The APHC spokesman also expressed concern over reimposition of ban on visits by relatives and smypathisers to Jodhpur, Kot Balwal and Udhampur jails to meet the illegally detained APHC leaders.
Forceful demonstrations were held in several locatlities of Srinagar in protest against official ban on participation in Taraveeh and Fajr prayers in mosques. The military authorities have ordered people at Zeenakoot, Batmaloo, Santnagar, Barzala and other localities to remain confined to their houses from 7 pm to 6 a.m. Protest demonstration were also held in Harisingh High Street and Maharaja Bazar against military repression. A large number of women took out protest procession in Pulwama and staged a sit-in in front of a police station, demanding release of four persons of a family, arrested by troops.
The Indian armed agents shot dead one Meraj Deen at Naeed Kabya in Baramula. The agitated people burnt houses of three Indian armed agents and also staged protest demonstrations. A recently released young man, Mohammad Rafiq Malik was gunned down at Naalband Pura, in Srinagar.
The Mujahideen attacked a task force camp, at Huma Haama, 15 Kms from Srinagar, killing and injuring a number of troops. The camp was extensively damaged. A soldier was shot dead at Aalikadal, in Srinagar. The Mujahideen also clashed with troops at Kot Dhara, in Rajouri area but details were not available as the military blockade continued till filling of this despatch.
Reports from New Delhi say that the executive of the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Front has appealed to the United Nations to take immediate action to settle Kashmir issue in view of the gravity of the situation.ÑAPP
