LHC CJ stresses need to eliminate corruption

LAHORE: The Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court, Mian Allah Nawaz, has stressed the urgent need to eliminate corruption from the society.
Addressing a full court reference held in his honour here on Monday, he said he will try his best to remove backlog of the cases pending in the courts and uproot the corrupt elements from the judiciary'
Not only judiciary, but also the whole society was facing the evil of corruption and added that corruption could be removed from the society only by waging a joint struggle. He stated for performing an impartial role and provision of justice to the people, judiciary should be separated from other pillars of the State.
He said that all the sections of the judiciary must work together for provision of easy and speedy justice to the people.
He viewed that judiciary could provide cheaper and speedy justice to society with the cooperation of the Bar and added that the lawyer community should help the judiciary in this regard.
'He will welcome the suggestions from the Bar in this regard and will take all possible measures to remove the hurdles in the provision of justice to the people.
On this occasion, Justice Falak Sher, Deputy Attorney General of Pakistan, Khwaja Saeeduz Zafar, President Lahore High Court Bar Association Ahmed Javed Jillani and all the presidents of Rawalpindi, Multan and Bahawalpur Bar associations also addressed the reference.
