11 Mujahideen
killed in
occupied Kashmir
SRINAGAR: Eleven Mujahideen embraced martyrdom in different encounters and clashes with Indian army in Kashmir, on Sunday and Monday.
Four Mujahideen were martyred when Indian troops launched a 'seek and destroy' operation in the forests of Kopara of Poonch district. The names of the Mujahideen could not be ascertained.
In another encounter, Indian forces shot dead a Mujahid at Toshingra in Poonch district and claimed the recovery of one rifle and some ammunition from him.
Reports from Udhampur said the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) killed a Mujahid in an encounter at Trungli village in Darmari-Arnas area and recovered one AK-47 rifle, three magazines and a large quantity of explosives. Two Mujahideen were also martyred in an encounter with BSF personnel in Mahore area of the same district. The names of the slain Mujahideen are being ascertained. Another unidentified Mujahid was killed by Special Operations Group (SOG) men Paryarni village in Doda district on Sunday night.
'One' Mujahid was killed in an encounter with the forces at Gund Chakpora in Budgam district. A rifle, 203 rounds of ammunition, 7 rifle grenades and a wireless set were claimed recovered from the site of the encounter.
Indian army spokesman has claimed that army had recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition during the encounters. While the Mujahideen sources stated that Mujahideen have inflicted huge men and material losses over Indian army which has resulted in acute frustration of Indian army.
The losses of Indian army are being reported very high, while the figures could not be ascertained.ÑPPI
