Owners threaten shutdown of mills, factories

LAHORE: The industrialists of Township have threatened to shutdown their mills and factories to protest the apathetic attitude of government functionaries in resolving their problems.
According to a statement issued by Lahore Township Industries Association (LTIA), a meeting of its executive council was held here on Sunday, which was presided by Iqbal Baig Chughtai.
The meeting expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the Township industrial area and condemned the excesses of Wasa and Wapda officials.
It observed that despite frequent meetings with the Wasa, Wapda and other concerned departments officials they had failed to get their grievances redressed.
The meeting decided to call a meeting of all industrialists of Township area on February 8 to take a final decision regarding closure of their factories and mills.
