at singing
LAHORE: Lollywood stars are nowadays concentrating on singing than acting.
The film stars, most of whom are on the decline, as local press reports suggest, are now looking for an alternative career - music.
Those out to prove their musical mettle are Shahida Mini, Babar Ali, Reema, Babra Sharif, Saud and newcomers Faisal Qureshi and Sana.
Shahida Mini was probably the first one to try her luck in singing. She has almost completed her first musical album, which will soon be launched.
Babar Ali has also joined the bandwagon of artistes-turned-singers, but the difference is that he is going it for a humanitarian reason.
He has signed up a contract of with a musical company to release an album of nursery rhymes, the proceeds of which will go on to a charity trust.
Currently, Reema is busy with composer Mohammed Arshad in her first musical album, which reportedly contain light, refreshing love songs.
Babra Sharif has already recorded for an untitled film. "The day is not far when people will talk about me in the same breath with Humera Channa and Shazia Manzoor," she claimed.
Saud is also confident that he can prove his mettle in singing. Recently, Sana sang a few songs at the "Choorian Day" function and received a lot of appreciation. Now she is requesting the producers to let her sing at least a song in her forthcoming films.-Internews
