Kashmiri leaders meet Musharraf

MUZAFFARABAD: Various Kashmiri leaders including All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) AJK chapter and overseas Kashmiris called on Chief Executive General Pervez Musharraf at the committee room of the Planning and Development Department here on Saturday.

AJK President Sardar Mohammad Ibrahim Khan, Premier Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhery, Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Corps Commander 10 Corps, Commander 12 Division Maj. Gen. Ishfaq Kiyani and other members of Chief Executive's entourage were also present on the occasion.

The meeting lasted about two hours. The Chief Executive was apprised by the Kashmiri leadership about the alarming situation in occupied Kashmir.

The Chief Executive underlined the need to initiate coordinated and collective efforts for the success of on-going freedom movement in occupied Kashmir.

Various aspects of the Kashmir freedom movement were discussed during the meeting.

The AJK leaders who met Chief Executive General Pervez here include, Sahibzada Mohammad Ishaque Zafar, PPP AJK, Sardar Sikander Hayat Khan, Chief of his own faction of Muslim Conference, Maj. General Mohammad Hayat Khan (Retd) former President of AJK and president AJK Muslim League, Abdul Rashid Turabi, MLA Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir, Raja Israr Ahmed Abbasi, MLA Chief PPP (Nazriyati), Chief Justice Abdul Majid Malik (Retd), Chief J&K Liberation League, Syed Nishat Hussain Kazmi, President Jammu Kashmir People's Party.

Leaders of All Pakistan Hurriyat Conference AJK Chapter included Syed Yousaf Nasim, Convenor and Mohammad Siddique Butt.

Overseas Kashmiri leaders who also called on the Chief Executive included Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai, Chief Kashmir-American Council, USA, Syed Nazir Gilani, Secretary General, London-based Jammu and Kashmir Council for Human Rights (JKCHR) and Nazir Ahmed Qureshi.ÑAPP
