H'abad political, religious parties observe Solidarity Day

HYDERABAD: The people of Hyderabad and various political and religious organisations here on Saturday observed Kashmir Day to express solidarity with the people of occupied Kashmir in their struggle to self-determination.

Political and religious organisations, held rallies and protest walks to condemn Indian atrocities against the people of occupied Kashmir. Jamaat-e-Islami held a protest rally at Faqir Ka Pir which was addressed by Maulana Abdul Waheed Qureshi, Maulana Asad Thanvi, Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, Rana Mehmood Ali Khan and others.

They warned the rulers of serious consequence if they abandoned Jehad under the pressure from President Clinton.

They said the the US was in the control of Jewish lobby which was afraid of Muslim renaissance.

They said that the UNO had become a surrogate of the US and Jews and that was the reason that it had failed to implement its own resolutions on occupied Kashmir.

They said that the chief executive was not clear in his mind about CTBT and warned that the entire Pakistani nation was against signing of CTBT.

Tahreek-e-Jafria Pakistan (TJP) led by the provincial chief of Hujatul Islam, Allama Hassan Turabi, broght out a rally form Qadam Gah Maula Ali and staged a dharna at Haider Chowk for half an hour.

The protesters also burnt the effigy of Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Indian flags. Addressing the rally, Allama Hassan Jurabi said that every drop of blood of Kashmiri Mujahideen will be avenged.

He urged the Pakistani rulers to control those organisations which were engaged in terrorist activities in the name of Jehad in occupied Kashmir and Afghanistan.

Allama Mohammad Ali Jarwar, Syed Kazim Shah Naqvi, Allama Altaful Hussaini, Nizamul Haidery and others also addressed the rally.

The protestors carried portraits of Imam Khomeni, Ayatullah Khamenai and Allama Sajid Ali Naqvi in their hands. Pakistan Awami Tahreek (PAT) organised "Kashmir conference" at the divisional secretariat of the party to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people.

Speaking on the occasion, Syed Rashid Hussain Shah, Syed Musharraf Ali Shah, Pervez-ur-Rehman and Younusul Kadri called upon the UNO to enforce its own resolution to give the right to self-determination to the Kashmiri people.

They welcomed the stand of chief executive on occupied Kashmir and demanded that Pakistan should not sign CTBT unless the occupied Kashmir issue was resolved.

Shabab-e-Milli also held demonstrations at Phulleli, Rishi Ghat and Faqir Ka Pir to condemn Indian atrocities against the Kashmiri people. The protesters who were led by Rao Masood Ali also burnt the effigy of Indian prime minister and Indian flag.

Sindh Rural Development Society Tando Jam led by the president of the society, Ilyas Khokhar, staged a rally on Hyderabad-Mirpurkhas Road.

Addressing the rally, Khokhar said that no nation could be enslaved for ever, adding that the day was not far when the Kashmiri freedom fighters would break the yoke of Indian domination.

Milli Yakjehti Council also staged a demonstration outside the Hyderabad Press Club to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people and condemn Indian Atrocities against the innocent people of the occupied Kashmir.
