Five Pakistanis held for drug trafficking in Oman
MUSCAT: In its new intensified campaign against drug traffickers, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) has arrested a gang of six smugglers, including five Pakistani nationals and an Omani, after confiscating 600 kg of hashish and 26 kg of heroin from them.
The accused, who have confessed to the crime, were identified as Murad Mir Dad, 60; Abdul Jaleel Khair Faqeer, 42; Saleh Mohammed Said, 33; Kamalan Dad Kareem, 38, and Abdul Wahid Rasul Bakhsh, all Pakistanis and Jamal Basham bin Dohi, 51, an Omani.
The gang was busted by a special task force of the directorate general of investigations, adding that the defendants would be referred to the penal court as soon as formalities were completed. PPI
