RECORDER REPORT
LAHORE: The Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court said on Friday that a civil society could not sustain without provision of justice to people.
Talking to newsmen in his chamber after assuming the office, he said that pendency of the cases was causing delay in the provision of justice to people and that he was determined to clear the backlog of cases.
He said though the number of judges was less than the cases filed in the court but he will try to remove all the hurdles, which could cause delay in provision of speedy justice to people.
He said: "Corruption had become a curse in our society, which needs to be eliminated. Act of giving bribe, accepting it and appreciating it are equally regrettable, however, the third kind is more dangerous for society."
