Christians to observe Kashmir day

FAISALABAD: The Christian community of Pakistan will also observe "February 5" to express solidarity with Kashmiris and condemn atrocities and human rights violations by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir here on Saturday. In this connection various Christian organisations have announced to hold special functions all over the world to highlight the reign of represssion being unleashed by Indian forces in the valley.
In a message, Javed Albert Bishop of Pakistan Evangelism said that Pakistan Church of Evangelism has already launched a propaganda campaign at international level to expose the atrocities being perpetrated by Indian government and Hindu Fundamentalists on innocent Kashmiris. He said that seven lakh Indian forces have turned the heaven of Kashmir into a hell but failed to crush the spirit of Kahsmiris who are struggling for their rights of self-determination.
Bishop Javed said American President Bill Clinton to pressurise Indian government to stop repression in the valley and give Kashmiri people a chance to exercise their right of self-determination independently. He also termed Clinton's remarks that international community can play its role in helping Pakistan and India to settle the Kashmir dispute and asked theinternational community to honour their commitment and play their role in pressurising India to implement UNO resolutions on Kashmir.
