Eight killed in bus wagon collision

ATTOCK: Eight persons including four women and a cyclist were killed and eight others sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision between a bus and a wagon on G.T. road near Attock bridge here on Thursday morning.

According to police sources an ill-fated wagon carrying labourers including men and women was on its way to Attock when a rashly driven bus coming from opposite direction collided head-on with the wagon allegedly due to negligence of bus driver.

As a result of which eight labourers including four women and a cyclist were killed on the spot while eight others received serious injuries who were rushed to Rural Health Centre, Khairabad, and Nowshera hospital.

The bus driver resident of Landi Kotal fled from the scene.

Among those killed are Mst. Gunggay, Mst. Showla. Mst. Azada, Rehman Gul r/o Nazampur Charpai and Naseer Khan r/o Khairabad, Lal Badshah.

The names of two others could not be ascertained so far.

The police rushed to the site of occurrence and started rescue operations.ÑAPP
