Demo against custodial death

HYDERABAD: The villagers of Goth Tando Mir Mehmood, Hyderabad, led by Akber Ali Shah staged a protest demonstration outside Hyderabad Press Club here on Thursday to protest against the custodial death of Sikandar Dar s/o Allah Jurio.

The protesters told newsmen that Sikandar Dars was arrested by Husri police on January 31 and later his body was handed over to the relatives by the Civil Hospital authorities on February 1.

They alleged that a dispute on a piece of land was going on between Sikandar Dars and Mukthiarkar, Nazeer Hussain Memon for quite some time and added that Sikandar had been arrested at the instance of the Mukthiarkar.

They claimed that the court of law had decided the case of the land in favour of the deceased.

They charged that Sikandar Dars was tortured to death by Husri police and demanded that the SHO, Husri police station, the Mukhtiarkar and others involved in the murder of Sikandar Dars should be arrested.
