Ban on Jehad bodies to harm Kashmir cause: Khalil

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Harkat-ul-Mujahideen Maulana Fazalur Rehman Khalil has asked Pakistan not to bow before the pressure of United States to impose ban on organisations operating on the Pakistan soil for the Jehad in Kashmir.

In an interview he said that the US demand for restrictions on organisations like Harkat-ul-Mujahideen, is unjust and baseless. It will prove harmful for Kashmir cause and will provide India guarantee for the genocide of Kashmiris.

The 38-year old Maulana Fazlur Rehman Khalil has said that the US and its allies have failed to provide any proof against those waging Jehad because Harkat is itself against any sort of terrorism and considers plane hijacking or killing of innocent people as un-Islamic acts.

"I think Pakistan would not bow down before American pressure and not impose ban on organisations, because it knows that inland and abroad these organisations are not involved in terrorism," Maulana Khalil said and added "in my view if there is no proof, Pakistan would not impose the curbs on Jehad organisations."

This, he said, is no way to please Clinton to ban the Jehad organisations. US and Pakistan know that the movements of the Kashmiri Mujahideen are totally independent and they do not accept any sort of restriction. He said that these organisations are fighting for freedom of Kashmir from Indian occupation and it is internationally recognised right of every nation to fight for its freedom.

Maulana Khalil said that at least his organisation is not using the Pakistan soil for militant and political activities and in such an event any curb on Jehad organisations is uncalled for and harmful for the Kashmir cause. He said that his only target is liberation of Kashmir and that neither they are involved in any terrorist activity against the United States nor its nationals. PPI
