Anaesthetists' role

KARACHI: For guaranteeing a successful operation, along with a good surgeon, the presence of an expert anaesthetist is also essential.

This was stated by Sindh Health Minister, Prof S M Rab, while speaking at the concluding session of the post-graduate course in anaesthesiology and intensive care at a local hotel, says a statement on Thursday.

He said that in any surgery the significance of anaesthesiology cannot be ignored and that the role of anaesthetist is very important.

The minister called upon anaesthetists to acquire expertise in the latest developments in the field.

He appealed to the anaesthetists to also pay attention towards the rural areas.

Prof Rab also highlighted the role of the Department of Anaesthesia, Civil Hospital Karachi, and said that those who acquired education from here are serving all over the province.

Dr Tipu Sultan and Dr Ala Hasten also spoke on the occasion.ÑAPP
