of security
RECORDER REPORT
KARACHI: The Inspector General of Police, Aftab Nabi has assured industrialists that night patrolling of the Site industrial area will be increased and strict security measures will be taken to ensure safety and peace in the area for smooth running of industrial units.
Talking to a delegation of All Pakistan Textile Processing Mills Association (APTPMA), he said inspite of limited resources and manpower the government is fully committed to the safety and security of every citizen of the country.
He informed the industrialists that he has already issued strict instructions to the SSP West to nab the culprits in the dacoity cases at Al-Azmat Pvt. Ltd. and A.Y.Industry and recover the looted goods immediately.
Regarding the traffic problems the IGP, instructed the Deputy Inspector General Traffic to visit the industrial area along with members of concerned trade bodies in a private car for surprise checking and take action against the traffic police officials who are not performing their duties satisfactorily or are involved in corruption.
G R Arshad, chairman, APTPMA, expressed grave concern over the recent dacoities in Site industrial area, where huge amounts in cash, cloth and other material including parts of machinery, were robbed at gun point from different industries. He also brought to the notice of IGP the cases of car snatching from the industrialists at gun point.
Recently the dacoits remained in Al-Azmat Pvt Ltd and A Y industries factories, for the whole night and then took away the goods along with machinery parts in four trucks. The area police has failed to trace the culprits or recover any goods. This wave of docoities has shattered the confidence of the industrialists who are already facing a lot of hardships in running their industrial units smoothly.
