CDA stops work on Mera Ghar Scheme

ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Wednesday directed builders to stop construction work on housing scheme (Mera Ghar) at G-8/4, and G-11/4 sectors.

According to CDA sources, Pakistan Housing Authority previously called Prime Minister Housing Authority was constructing houses and flats (Mera Ghar) in G-8 and G-11 sectors without any approved plan.

The CDA Enforcement directorate asked construction company Nespak to stop work as it has not any approved plan. CDA issued notices and letters earlier to the company and contractor to submit plan but the company failed to do so.

Pakistan Housing Authority is supposed to construct 288 C-category flats at G-11/4 in 36 blocks, while 277 D-category flats in 34 blocks at G-11/4. In G-8/4 the authority is supposed to construct 156 flats.

Enforcement directorate in an other operation removed 52 encroachments in green belt of G-8 sector from Postal colony to Peshawar More.

Some businessmen occupied green belt areas in an unique and novel way and permanently placed large size containers and used these as cement sale point, other areas used as sale point of brisk, sand, concrete and made big stores of apparatus of construction building used it for rent purposes.

CDA staff also demolished 12 huts and five hotels in the same green belt. The staff also started operation in G-9 sector to check encroachers. APP
