Brother, mother
reject judicial
inquiry into
Sheedi murder
RECORDER REPORT
HYDERABAD: Dilawar, brother of late Sattar Sheedi, who was murdered in Tando Bago 20 days back, and the mother-in-law of the deceased, Ms Nooran Khatoon, have rejected the judicial inquiry in the matter and appealed to the Chief Executive and other authorities to order the arrest of the absconding accused, Khalid Mehmood Arain.
Speaking at a news conference at the Hyderabad Press Club here on Wednesday, they said that in a clash over the possession of 67 acres of land in Deh Bohari, Taluka Tando Bago, Sattar Sheedi was murdered by five persons.
They said that four accused had been arrested and the case had been challaned in the court of the civil judge, Tando Bago.
They, however, said accused Khalid Mehmood Arain, who was also wanted in various heinous crimes of Digri police Station, was still absconding.
Under the circumstances, they said, the judicial inquiry by the Assistant Commissioner, Matli, was neither needed nor acceptable to them.
They pointed out that the disputed land of 67 acres had also not been taken over by the authorities under section 145 Cr.PC and expressed fear for their lives at the hands of the absconding accused.
They demanded the arrest of the absconding accused and protection to the bereaved family.
The foster mother of the deceased, Ms Lal Khatoon, and relative Mohammad Jumman were also present on the occasion.
