ATC judge calls for record in Pervaiz Rashid case

LAHORE: The Special Judge, Anti-Terrorism Court, Mehmood Maqbool Bajwa, has issued notices for February 4 in a bail application filed by Pervaiz Rashid, former PTV chairman and PML(N) leader, and called for record of the case.

The petitioner was arrested by the Race Course police on the charge of snatching arms from some police officials, keeping them in illegal detention and torturing them.

The petitioner contended in his bail application that the case in question was politically motivated and meant only to harass and victimise him.

He, therefore, prayed to the court to allow him bail till the disposal of the main case.

The special judge, after hearing his counsel at length, issued notices for February 4 and called for record.
