Outer development charges MDA accepts builders' plea

KARACHI: The Malir Development Authority (MDA) has accepted the plea of the builders and developers that outer development charges so far paid by them to the Karachi Development Authority (KDA) would be acceptable to the Authority provided all future payment are deposited with the MDA.
Yunus Dagha, Deputy Commissioner, Malir, assured a delegation of the Association of Builders and Developers (Abad), which called on him on Wednesday, that the Authority would not ask them to deposit the money that the builders had already deposited with the KDA and that notices of outer development charges in respect of frozen or encroached plots would be withdrawn.
Dagha said notices for enhanced rates of outer development charges based on wrong calculations would also be withdrawn/rectified.
The delegation briefed the DC about the problems faced by the builders in carrying out construction work and payment of outer development charges.
The Abad delegation included Zahid Ali Rizvi, chairman, southern region, Mohammed Hanif Panjwani, Engr. Abdul Karim Tai, Kasim Dashtyar, Mohammed Anwar Gagai, Nusrat Mirza Chughtai, Mohammed Rauf Chapal and Shujat Baig.
