AGPR computer centre opens

KARACHI: The Auditor General of Pakistan, Manzoor Hussain, inaugurated the newly established computer centre of the Accountant General of Pakistan Revenue (AGPR) sub office, Karachi, on Wednesday to facilitate computerised payroll, gratuity and provident funds services to about 50,000 federal government employees serving in Sindh.
Opening the 24th centre of the AGPR, Hussain said there was need to fully computerise payroll, GP fund and pensions of the government employees on priority basis.
He asked the staff of the AGPR to acquaint and update themselves with the latest in the computers and utilise their knowledge in the services of the employees.
Earlier, Sindh Finance Secretary met the AG and discussed measures to improve financial discipline in government offices, particularly in the district account offices (DAO) and the treasury offices (TO).
It was decided to constitute inspection teams having representatives of the provincial finance department and the AG Sindh. The teams will pay visits to the DAOs and TOs and examine financial management practices. These committees will be supervised by the provincial finance secretary and the AG Sindh.
