Rs 64m for
Sindh education
schemes
KARACHI: An amount of Rs 63.713 million has been allocated for 35 different schemes in education sector during current fiscal year, Provincial Secretary for Education, Sharif Baloch said while talking to a delegation of students who called on him at his office.
Giving details about the programme, secretary education said that a sum of Rs 17.074 million would be utilised for 26 units of secondary education; Rs 15.034 million on technical education and Rs 31.605 million for five different college education schemes with a view to provide educational facilities of different levels to the students.
He said that the government was equally committed to raise the literacy rate in every nook and corner of the province.
Sharif Baloch called upon the students to divert more attention towards their studies besides taking part in extra-curricular activities.
The secretary education said that the government was planning to modify the existent education system enabling maximum number of people particularly students to come into its ambit.
He advised the parents to pay more attention towards their children and support them getting higher education more particularly scientific knowledge as it is the increasing need of the present day world.ÑAPP
