'Minority will

also get poverty

alleviation fund'

PESHAWAR: Minister for Minority, Sports and Culture Derrick Cyprian on Sunday said poverty alleviation fund and micro-credit scheme would be equally spent on all sections of society including the minorities.

He was addressing a gathering of minorities of NWFP arranged by All Minority Community of NWFP.

The minister said the present government is aware of the problems of minorities and is taking drastic steps for resolution. In this respect, he said, priority would be given to the minorities of far flung areas.

Cyprian also exhorted the minorities to be proud of being Pakistani and take active part in development of the country.

The gathering was also addressed by NWFP Minister for Religious Affairs and Minorities Qari Roohullah.

He also informed the participants that the provincial government will spent all available resources for the uplift of minorities.

Later, representatives of Hindu, Sikh and Christian communities delivered speeches and expressed satisfaction over the policies of the present government specially on Kashmir issue and CTBT.

They also welcomed the government decision of giving representation to minority in the cabinet.ÑAPP
