WASHINGTON: Former US president George Bush was hospitalised after feeling light-headed during an event at Naples, Florida, CNN said early Friday quoting a Bush spokesman.

Bush, 75, suddenly felt light-headed and was advised to go to hospital after leaving a conference of bankers in Naples, CNN said.

He was admitted to the hospital for overnight observation, the Bush spokesman told the news service.

Bush's son, Texas Governor George W. Bush, was in Texas late Thursday and was due to visit Virginia on Friday, in his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination.

It was not known whether he planned to visit his father in hospital, CNN said.ÑAFP
