Banking Court issues Rs 16.66m decree against PML activist
LAHORE: The Banking Court No.1, Lahore, has issued degree of Rs 16.66 million against a Muslim League activist, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutta, for getting 31 cars under the Prime Minister's Yellow Cab Scheme in 1993 in names of his family members and employees.
The 13 recovery suits were filed by Ejaz Ahmed Awan, advocate, on behalf of United Bank Limited, Jail Road Branch, submitting that Zulfiqar Ali Bhutta obtained 31 cars through the branch in the names of his father, mother, sister, brother-in-law, driver and chowkidar, etc. on the same address and did not pay the instalments.
Awan also informed the court that the respondent was declared defaulter in all the 31 cases whereas he (respondent) also unlawfully sold out three cars worth Rs 4 million to Rashid Motors, Lahore, and a petition was pending with the Lahore High Court in this regard. APP
