Four retired officers appointed FPSC members

ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Wednesday appointed four retired officers in the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) as its member on contract basis for a period of five years.
They are former secretary, culture, Roshan Zamir, former secretary, Planning Division, Mian Tayyab Hassan, retired professor Peshawar University Dr Miss Baha Ali and retired professor of Quaid-e-Azam University Mehmooda Hassan.
Sources said that the previous government of Nawaz Sharif had planned to reduce the strength of FPSC members to five from eleven. The establishment division had not appointed any member in place of out-going members of the commission.
Sources said Chief Executive General Pervez Musharraf in his recent visit to the FPSC approved the appointment of members to complete its sanctioned strength. The establishment division has appointed four members and remaining would be appointed soon.
TRANSFERS, POSTINGS
The government also transferred joint secretary, Establishment Division, Abdul Aziz to the Ministry of Water and Power on the same post.
Joint secretary, Water and Power, Maula Bukhsh Lund, has been transferred and his services have been placed before the government of Sindh.
Syed Kamal Raza Naqvi, a BS-19 officer of the Secretariat Group, has been transferred and posted as deputy secretary to the Member National Security Council.
Sultan Ahamd Khan, deputy secretary, Ministry of Interior, has been transferred and posted as deputy secretary, Ministry of Food and Agriculture.
Farkhand Iqbal, an officer of the Planning Division, has been posted as deputy secretary to the Member National Security Council.
Tahawar Hussain, deputy secretary, Ministry of Food and Agriculture, has been transferred to National Security Council.
The government has also extended the contract of Major General Mohsin Ahmad Wahdi (Retd), Director, PNSC, for a period of one year.
