Judiciary to stay independent: CE

QUETTA: Chief Executive General Pervez Musharraf on Tuesday said that the judiciary is free and independent and the government would not interfere in its working.

He was addressing a delegation of Balochistan Bar Association.

"The judiciary is independent and it will continue to work independently," said General Musharraf.

The Chief Executive asked the Bar to play its role in advancing the mission of administering quick and inexpensive justice to the common man.

"The common man has suffered a lot owing to delay in the dispensation of justice."

Dilating on the devolution of power at district level, he said that provision of speedy justice at the doorstep of common man is one of the four cardinal points of the programme.

Balochistan Bar Association President Sakhi Sultan apprised the Chief Executive about the problems of the lawyers. APP
