Dr Masuma assumes charge as cabinet secretary

ISLAMABAD: Dr. Masuma Hasan, an officer in BPS-22 since 1993, on Monday assumed charge as the Cabinet Secretary.

She was Director, National Institute of Public Administration, Karachi, before her appointment as the Cabinet Secretary. Educated at St. Josephs College and University of Karachi and University of Cambridge UK (Ph.D in Politics), she earlier served as Ambassador to Pakistan to Austria (with concurrent accreditation to Slovenia and Slovakia) and Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations and other international organisations in Vienna (1995-1997), IAEA, UNIDO, etc. She was also Chairperson of the Group of 77 at the United Nations in Vienna in 1996.
