KARACHI: International Public Relations Association (IPRA) the representative body of Public Relations Professionals, has announced through a press release on Monday competition rules and submission date for its 2000 Competition leading to the Golden Awards.

According to the announcement the awards would be given in the fields of overall institutional, public service, public affairs, issue management, emergency, community relation, employee relation, investor relation, marketing, special event under eight days, special event eight days or more, environmental, and arts etc.

A special United Nations award will also be given for a public relations campaign with a social purpose. A research award will be given to an entry that demonstrates outstanding use of research in development and evaluation of the programme. The front-line 21 Award will be given to a creative entry from an organisation in the country where public relations is still developing. The IPRA Grand Prize of Excellence will be given to the individual entry adjudged to have demonstrated the highest standard of competence.

The entries will be judged by an international panel of senior level practitioners and international media. The Golden Word Award is now in its ten years and accepts entries from business enterprises, associations and governmental bodies anywhere in the world. Public relations firms may enter on behalf of their clients.
