PCMEA asked to help expedite functionality of SSIC centres

KARACHI: Dr. Khawar Jameel, Managing Director, Sindh Small Industries Corporation (SSIC) has invited the Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PCMEA) to speed-up the functionality of 38 SSIC carpet training -cum-production centres in joint venture schemes in the greater interest of national development and prosperity.

Talking to a two-member delegation of the PCMEA, he urged the PCMEA to come forward and uplift the carpet industry in close co-operation with the SSIC.

He informed that SSIC had improved its network to ensure the development and promotion of small and cottage industry in Sindh . He said strict instructions were issued to SSIC officials to perform their duties more devotedly.

Yacoob H Shlehjee, Chairman PCMEA, said that PCMEA had established a carpet training institute in Karachi, wherein training for all purposes was imparted and the PCMEA would cooperate with SSIC to their effect.

SSIC and PCMEA have decided to jointly hold a seminar on carpet in Hyderabad in the second week of March 2000.
