Probe into 6-year old Charas scam case ordered

faisalabad: A top level inquiry has been ordered into a Charas scam of the previous caretaker government which was allegedly hushed up under political pressure by declaring maunds of Charas recovered by the Anti-Narcotic Cell as black soap.

The Anti-Narcotic Cell had recovered a huge quantity of Charas from the area of Thikriwala Police Station about six years ago and was dumped in a store of nearby Sadhar village.

The samples of the recovered Charas were sent for chemical analysis and surprisingly it was declared as black soap.

The people apprehended involvement of some influential politicians in this scam but the case was hushed up under the cover of chemical analysis.

However, now the National Accountability Cell has ordered to reopen this case and investigation has started.
