PPL commissions 87th well at Sui Gas Field

Lahore: Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) successfully commissioned and put into production its 87th well in PAB formation at Sui Gas Field on Sunday, it was reliable learnt here.

The production of the well (PAB-1), having a pressure of 720 pound square inch (PSI), is estimated at 15 million Cubic Feet of sweet gas per day. The actual estimated gas pressure of the well is 2400 PSI, which however, has been lowered due to technical reasons, sources added.

The commissioning of the well is estimated to bring the total production of 87 wells at Sui Gas Field to 900 million cubic feet of gas, sources maintained.

The PAB gas field was discovered in 1999 and its drilling completed in August the same year at an approximate cost of Rs 800 million.
