New education policy shortly
KARACHI: The legal action will be taken against those coaching centers and other educational institutions in Sindh province, working without registration or the approval.
This was decided in a meeting headed by Sindh Minister for Education, Anita Ghulam Ali here on Sunday. She said effective measures would be taken in Education Department to resolve its problems and directed secretary, additional secretary and other concerned officials to implement her orders shortly.
In the meeting, it was decided that admission policy would be announced for the colleges shortly for next year, through which admissions would be given to students according to the capacity of colleges. A percentage of all grades would be allocated for admissions in the colleges, while a committee would be set up to make sure 60 admissions in a class.
The meeting further decided that attendance of a students should be 75 percent, on which basis their admit cards would be issued.
It was decided that principals of colleges would be instructed to hold educational and sports programmes in their colleges and winners should be awarded prizes. An 'Education Day' should be observed in colleges, the meeting decided.
Sindh minister assured the meeting that she would contact with finance department of Sindh for approval of appointment of 328 assistant teachers, associate professors, assistant professors, and other vacant posts in education department. APP
