FJWU holds art exhibition

RAWALPINDI: Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) organised an exhibition of miniature paintings here on Saturday displaying a variety of water colour work of the students.

Vice Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Women University Dr Najma Najam inaugurated the 3-day exhibition in the fine arts block of the university.

The exhibition was arranged at the conclusion of five weeks course on "indo-Mughal and Persian miniature painting" in which about 23 regular students of the university participated.

Vice Chancellor speaking on the occasion said that art is a unique example of expressing a cultured way of life. Exercise of joy relating to the visible or invisible, physical or astral body or sentiments being in real forum, appear before human beings in expressive forms.

Different people express their feelings and sentiments differently and this led to the creation of a lot of different arts.

She said that all these developments in this subject make it necessary for the Students to equip themselves with the latest developments and learn different techniques of arts to turn themselves into skilful artist.

Vice Chancellor said, Fatima Jinnah Women University is a new institution but is trying to equip its students with all the new developments taking place in their respective fields. To fulfil this wish different workshops are conducted in different departments of the university, she added.

She said that last year, in fine arts department three workshops were conducted in the university. First one dealt with print making, the second one with basic designing and the third with ceramics. APP
