Congress candidate killed in Rajasthan
NEW DELHI: In Indian state of Rajasthan, a candidate of Congress party, was killed in clashes between rival groups and incidents of snatching of ballot boxes during "Panchayat polls," reports Indian daily "The Hindustan Times".
Indian police have arrested more than 12 peope in connection with the murder of Congress candidate, Birbal Singh Sekhria in Jhunjhunu district. It is learnt that Sekhria was kidnapped by his rivals and later murdered in a lonely place. Two independent candidates came with their supporters who captured the polling booths in one of the 'smaitis' in Bharatpur district after manhandling the employees, the paper added.
Due to boycott of the poll duties by striking employees, state government was forced to mobilise the employees from Central Government departments. Rajiy Gandhi schools, industrial training institutes for election duties, the paper added.ÑAPP
