Panic grips Chundrigar Rd on Jang offices bomb hoax

KARACHI: Panic gripped the whole of I.I. Chaundrigar Road area on Tuesday evening on a false information that three powerful bombs had been planted at Daily Jang newspaper office.

After a thorough search by the bomb disposal squad of Karachi Police the staff of the newspaper returned to their derths after two hours.

"We have checked the building and found no trace of any bomb," an official of Karachi Police said.

A staffer of Jang newspaper said that the management had asked the staff to vacate the office at once as an information had been received that three powerful bombs had been planted in the building.

"We received a call at about 6:45 pm from an unknown person that a powerful bombs had been planted in the building which would explode in half an hour," a management official said.

Karachi Police's bomb disposal squad immediately reached the spot and thoroughly checked the building.
