Inquiry against torture on journalist assured

ISLAMABAD: Azad Jammu & Kashmir Prime Minister Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry has assured the delegation of the Central Union of Journalists (CUJ) that he will take immediate action against the persons involved in the arrest and torture of journalist Javeed Hashmi.

He ordered immediate inquiry of the incident and said that grievances of the journalist community will be addressed soon.

The delegation, led by CUJ President Mumtaz Shamim Chaudhry, called on the prime minister on Friday at Kashmir House and informed him about the episode of arrest of the AJK journalist.

Chaudhry informed the Premier about the sentiments of the journalist community and asked him to take stern action against the SHO involved in incident. PPI
