mission visits KSE

KARACHI: Financial Consular Deniel Maitre and Financial Attache Philippe Boin of the French Embassy, both based in Cairo accompanied by Hubert Colaris, Economic and Commercial Counsular, French Embassy, Islamabad, and Jane Pierre Filippi, Commercial Counsular, Consulate General of France in Karachi, visited the Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) and had a meeting with its Vice-Chairman Salim Chamdia.

KSE Managing Director Shahid Ghaffar and General Manager Mohammad Yacoob Memon were also present.

Chamdia welcomed the guests and briefed them about the present stock market conditions and various infrastructure developments made at the exchange recently.

He also briefed them about the present stock market conditions and the impact of various policy decisions taken by the new government on the stock market.

The delegation was also apprised about the government's policy of privatisation through the stock exchange.

Daniel Maitre appreciated the hospitality extended to his delegation. He said the basic purpose of their visit was to assess the investment climate with special regard to the infrastructure development that had taken place on the KSE.

He praised the infrastructure development project undertaken by the Exchange for bringing more efficiency and transparency.
