Justice Bhendari appointed admin head of LHC

LAHORE: The Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court (LHC) has appointed Justice Karamat Nazir Bhendari as administrative head of the Court and asked the lawyers to submit their complaints about the filing and fixation of their cases.

The Chief Justice said this while talking to a delegation of the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA), who headed by its President Ahmed Javed Jillani, called on him here on Monday. He asked them to make liaison with Justice Karamat Nazir Behandri in this regard.

The Chief Justice also asked the bar members to approach the court for keeping their cases pending through the bar president.

The Chief Justice, while discussing with the delegation with the problems faced by the lawyers observed that this decision was taken in the light of the complaints made by the bar members and added that only those complaints would be entertained which would be submitted through the Bar president.

The Chief Justice also informed the delegation that family cases will be heard day-to-day, and added that later rent cases will also be proceeded in the same manner.

The Chief Justice also asked the delegation to submit their proposals and assured them to take necessary steps to resolve the problems faced by the bar members.

Later, talking to newsmen the president of the Bar said that they would soon constitute a committee to collect and formulate the proposals.

To a question, he said that three bar members who were issued show cause notices had so far not replied to these.

He said that the executive body of the Bar will take a better decision in this regard keeping in view the dignity of the bar and the bench.
