Govt working on giving economic facilities to minorities

LAHORE: Federal Minister for Minorities, Sports Culture and Tourism Derek Cyprian has said that the present government is working on a number of projects in order to give economic empowerment to the minorities and poor sections of the country.

The minister, who was here to attend a church service at FGA Church on Sunday, said that the government was committed to resolve the problems of the general public and was taking various steps for the betterment and uplift of the poor segments of the society.

The scheme of micro credit bank and women development programme are the steps the present government has taken in this direction, he said.

Earlier, Heskiel Sarosh, in his address of welcome said that the Christian community feels extremely happy by the present regime's decision to appoint Derek Cyprian as the Minister for Minorities. He, on behalf of his community, thanked the Chief Executive for the confidence he bestowed on the Christian community, and said that they would never betray his trust.
