99pc Deeni Madaris doing well: Moin

KARACHI: Moin Uddin Haider, Minister for Interior, said on Saturday that 99 percent Deeni Madaris were doing very well and imparting the Islamic teaching of patience and tolerance to the people.

Talking to religious scholars Nizamuddin Shamzai and Mufti Rafi Usmani who called on him, the minister said that these religious scholars had agreed that a small number of miscreants in the garb of Islam were spreading hatred and differences.

He said a vigilant eye would be kept on mischief-mongers.

Haider also warned that permission would not be given to circulate speeches and press statements, which created tension among different schools of thought in the country.

He said that a conference would be held very soon to evolve a strategy to bring harmony among the different schools of thought.

Later, a delegation of Jamat-i-Islami also called on the interior minister at the State Guest House.
