Bail denied in
murder case
KARACHI: Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed of Sindh High Court on Friday rejected bail application of Pervaiz arrested in murder case of his wife.
According to the prosecution, Anila Naz (17) was wedded to Pervaiz two months prior to the incident, November 01, 1999 in which she sustained burns. The woman, in her dying statement, recorded under Section 154 Cr P C, stated that her husband got furious when she enquired from him about his relations with another girl, Sanam.
She stated that in an outrage, Pervaiz sprinkled kerosene oil on her and then threw a match stick.
The accused was arrested after she died six days after the incident at Burns ward of Civil Hospital Karachi.
The accused moved the bail application before the Additional District and Sessions Judge VIII, East, which was dismissed, after which the applicant moved the SHC which also rejected the bail application of the accused/appellant.
APPEALS BY CONVICTS
Meanwhile Special Custom Appellate bench of SHC comprising Chief Justice Syed Deedar Hussain Shah issued production order of two appellants on February 22.
Both the accused/appellants, Ahmed Mustapha (Nigeria) and Owusu Issac (Ghana), preferred separate appeals through Superintendent of Central Prison Karachi against their convictions and sentence by the customs court in heroin smuggling cases.ÑAPP
