Lodhi takes charge as NIC chief

KARACHI: Maudood Ahmad Lodhi has taken over the charge as chairman of the National Insurance Corporation (NIC) on Wednesday.
He is an MBA and a law graduate. He is also a fellow of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (Icmap) as well as UK.
Lodhi started his career in 1965, with Esso Standard Eastern Inc.- an international oil company based in the USA.
In 1967, he joined a general insurance company and later served with the State Life Insurance Corporation for 11 years. In 1981 he joined the Pakistan Services Limited Ñ the owning and operating company of Inter-Continental Hotels in Pakistan and worked as its chief executive till 1996.
He joined Occidental Petroleum as its president and chief executive and worked there till 1998. Later, he worked as President of a US based hotel company in Qatar for one year.
