Courts for
under-trial women,
prisoners formed
KARACHI: Sindh Governor Mohammad Azim Daudpota has approved the setting up of at least two courts of additional session judge and two other courts of judicial magistrates with all the required facilities to conduct the cases of women, children and under trial prisoners in jail.
The investigating officer of the case would be responsible for production of witnesses and the case properties before these courts on dates of hearing regularly. In case of default severe action would be taken against relevant investigation officer.
The government has further directed that all the sub-jails at Taluka level would be revived and would be provided all the basic requirements including necessary security arrangements.
Sindh government has nominated Minister of Law and Women Development Barrister Shahida Jamil to head the committee set up earlier to look into the cases of women, children and under trial prisoners and suggest measures to ensure early judicial process of the cases in the interest of justice.ÑPPI
